Tape-in extensions are a simple solution when you're struggling with hair that feels too short or too thin. Like other types of hair extensions, they can create volume, length, or both in a matter of minutes. However, the downside to any long-term hair extension is that it grows out and routinely needs to be reapplied. If you've ever tried to re-do your tape-in extensions at home, you'll know that one of the hardest parts is actually removing the adhesive from the extension once you've safely removed it from your hair. When it comes to getting rid of the old adhesive, you'll just need a trusty ingredient that you probably already have in your bathroom: talcum powder. This naturally absorbent product will suck up the sticky residue and help the old adhesive to come away from the extension. How to prepare and re-tape your old extensions
Once you've removed your hair extensions, you need to take off the old adhesive and apply a new one. This is where the talcum powder comes in. Pour a little powder in a flat bowl, and then dip the adhesive tab of the hair extension (which tapes to your hair) into it face down, patting the top of it to really ensure the powder comes into contact with the adhesive. After a few seconds, simply take the hair extension out and peel off the adhesive — it should come off with ease.
