Crab

Known for their two large pinchers and sweet, moist meat, there are many types of crab that make good eating. On the Pacific coast you'll find Dungeness crab; king crab and snow crab are popular in Alaska and the North Pacific, all of which are in season in wintertime. Blue crabs are found along the Gulf and Atlantic coast and are a spring and summer delicacy. Soft-shell crabs peak in June and July and are a Maryland specialty. Canned or frozen crab is a good choice year round.
