Corned beef

Corned beef has no corn! Corned beef is either beef brisket or round, cured in a highly seasoned brine. The name comes from the salt grains, which were the size of a kernel of wheat or "corn" as it was called in Britain. Typical seasonings include mustard seed and garlic. Corned beef makes great sandwiches, served hot or cold and is also typical for meals celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
