Brownies

A distinctly American treat, brownies are somewhere between a chocolate cookie and a chocolate cake. Brownies can be cakey, fudgy, or chewy depending upon how many eggs are in the batter and whether or not the butter is creamed or melted. Popular additions and flavorings for brownie recipes include liquors, nuts, candies, cream cheese, and coffee. No matter the flavor, brownies are happily accompanied by a big glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
