Bread Pudding

Even at it’s most basic, slices of bread combined with milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla layered in a casserole and gently baked create one of the most comforting desserts around. Served hot or cold, with or without a sauce, bread pudding is a great way to use day-old slices of bread or cake and can be varied with the addition of spices, chocolate, fruit, or liquor. Savory bread puddings use herbs, eggs, and milk, and sometimes meat, seafood, vegetables, or cheese and make a great side dish.
