Biscuit recipe

While the English refer to cookies as biscuits, in America biscuits are small size quick breads, leavened with baking powder or soda. One exception would be Southern angel biscuits, which are leavened with yeast. Light and fluffy, biscuits are a popular breakfast item in the South. They are typically served with butter and jam or with gravy.
