Rum cocktail recipes

A telltale sign that the beverage is rum based cocktail is the presence of the little umbrella in the drink. This spirit, distilled from sugarcane, comes in a variety of grades (such as light, dark, spiced, and gold). Mixing one ounce of the light variety with 1/2 ounce limejuice, 1/2 ounce orange curacao, 1/2 ounce orgeat syrup, and 1 ounce dark rum results in the ever-delicious Mai Tai. But equally poplar are rum recipes that mix the drink with Coke or sugar, mint, and seltzer to create the ever-popular Mojito.
