Good gravy can be served on meat, vegetables, and, our favorite, mashed potatoes. For vegetarian gravy make an onion-based sauce. Ways to dress up your gravy include the addition of cream, brandy, a pinch of instant coffee, fresh herbs, mushrooms, or a splash of wine.
