A diabetic diet follows many of the same common-sense guidelines that are good for everyone .such as eating foods that are high in fiber and low in fat and refined sugar. Lowering your weight can also help lower insulin resistance and may allow you to reduce or quit taking diabetes medicine if you have type 2 diabetes.
