Nothing quite says "celebration" like cake. At Christmas time there are all kinds of traditional cakes to make and enjoy. In Germany, Stollen is a buttery bread-like cake that often has fruit or nuts in it. In France, the Buche Noel is a cake that looks like a Yule log, frosted in chocolate and sometimes decorated with little mushrooms made from meringue. Fruitcake is also a traditional cake at Christmas in the U.S. and in Europe, often given as a gift.
