Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are the most popular cookies in the U.S. The cookies were originally called Toll House cookies and were invented by innkeeper Ruth Wakefield, who named them after the Toll House Inn, located halfway between Boston and New Bedford, on the outskirts of Whitman, Mass. Using an ice cream scoop may not be traditional, but it will yield uniform-size cookies. Lining your baking pan with parchment paper will keep cookies from getting too brown on the bottom and will also make cleaning the pans a breeze.
