In 1893 the San Antonio Chili Stand introduced chili to the nation at the Chicago World's Fair, and we haven't looked back since. Chili is a truly American dish and the official state food of Texas, but there is no one standard style or way to serve it. In Cincinnati it's cinnamon spiked and served over spaghetti with shredded cheddar cheese. In Hawaii it's generally served over rice. Spicy or mild, with meat or without, with white beans, black beans, or pinto beans, any way you like it, chili is rib-sticking and satisfying.
