Rachel Nasvik is a one of my favorite under-the-radar bag designers and the Patricia one of my fave bags in her collection. I have this bag in a deep blue that appears almost purple in the sun and honestly, I get about a million compliments every time I carry it. The leather is lush and soft and it's sweetly vintage in style while remaining contemporary. I paid full price but you can get yours in green for just $275 at Amazon...lucky you!

It took a long time for me to cave on the fugliness that is the Ugg boot. I finally purchased my lone pair (Tall, black) about 2 years after the trend hit critical mass. While I love breaking them out on subzero NYC days, I still can't get down with the idea of cut off teddy bear legs as a fashion statement.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let me just say that Ugg's come a long way. Sure, they've made some mistakes along the way (er, here, here or holy hell, here) but there are also several super cute looks in the newest collection. My first choice would be the cute wedge Elsie (left, a hair under $300, yikes) with the flat Cargo style ($229.95) a close second.

The Wall Street Journal brings a bit of breaking news today. Steve & Barry's - the once boring, then buzzed-about mall brand - is apparently deep in the red and will be closing at least 100 stores. Apparently, despite our friends Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Bynes, Stephon Marbury and Laird Hamilton, selling merch for $8.98 doesn't exactly leave much of a profit. So, for all of those who wondered and wondered how the company could afford to sell their basic but well designed wares so inexpensively...now we know. Ya can't.
