One part sugar and two parts spice, Lawson is the award-winning author of several bestselling cookbooks, including Feast: Food to Celebrate Life, Nigella Bites, How to Be a Domestic Goddess, and the recently released Nigella Express, which is packed with recipes for quick, delicious meals. The beautiful Brit has returned to the small screen with her new Food Network series, Nigella Express, and is the force behind the Nigella Lawson’s Living Kitchen line of dishware, silverware, and serving pieces. But a full plate didn’t stop the former food columnist from dishing up some revealing tidbits on her favorite tasty, sometimes-extravagant items with which she spoils herself.
—Amy Gurvitz

What’s always in your refrigerator?
More than you have space to print! Small bottles of still mineral water, bottles of prosecco, unwaxed lemons and limes, a forest of salad, Italian eggs, bacon, unsalted butter, slightly salted butter, pomegranate seeds, parsley, cilantro, chives, thyme and dill,

mushrooms, carrots, green apples, avocado hummus, heavy cream, cold chicken, ham, cheddar, frankfurters, Thai green- and red-curry pastes, and about a thousand Cling-wrapped bowls and tubs of leftovers.

What’s your house wine or other beverage?
My wine of choice—extravagant but that’s the way I like it—is a
2002 Pommard.

House bubbly?
Either Taittinger champagne or La Marca prosecco.

Food aversion?
Soy milk.

Favorite olive oil?
Nolan’s Road Extra-Virgin Olive Oil—from Australia.

Favorite fast-food joint, if any?
Pink’s in Los Angeles.

Favorite cocktail?
A green-apple martini.
